statement

The act of making art is my personal response to and acknowledgement of that which moves me. The process fully engages my mind and body in articulating my observations, perceptions, and emotions into a visual response. It is the struggle and resolution that I find compelling and fulfilling.

 

The inspiration for my current body of work is found within both the natural world, and the day-to-day activities in which we are engaged. The close-up examination of my topic offers an abstraction, which lends a graphic focus and sensibility to the work. Photography and sometimes printmaking are combined to bring forth the imagery in structured ‘excerpt’ collages full of saturated color, rich patterns and visual textures.
